Until the harsh light of day dissipates
I am forever trapped in this sullen bed
Forever to be a creature I hate
The night time hours I have come to dread
I wish so badly to be human again
Instead of the never changing undead
I've never experienced so much pain
The agony of watching loved ones die
I am a slave to this accursed bane
The life I have is treacherous and wry
I would not wish it upon anyone
Although some do pine for eternal life
Even for those expecting death to come
I refuse to grant them eternity
For lifelong death is more painful than one
The thoughts in my mind are my enemies
I try to restrain my awful hunger
should I slip into wicked tendency
The lonely centuries that I have endured
Have made me loath love and scorn the daylight
I dwell in a world where bliss is torture
Forever trapped in elongated night
Like the pine wood coffin made for the dead
Where I return before vexing twilight
To the dejected tomb of the bereaved
Mordant existence I cannot transcend
